Silent Divergence

In shadows cast by friendship’s light,
Two hearts once beat in rhythm tight.
Yet now, beneath the waning moon,
She feels the cold, a stark monsoon.

Her words, like blossoms in the spring,
Touched the skies and made them sing.
She offered kindness, love untold,
A bond so deep, it seemed pure gold.

Her laughter met with muted stares,
Her warmth confronted icy airs.
She gave her all, her heart, her soul,
But he remained a distant goal.

His silence grew where echoes should,
A fading light misunderstood.
He stood apart, in shadows kept,
While she reached out, and still she wept.

No fault of hers, her heart was true,
Yet his return was overdue.
For friendship’s light, though fiercely bright,
Can dim when one holds on too tight.

So fare thee well, kind heart, my friend,
May peace and grace your steps attend.
Though her love met with silence stark,
In time, she’ll mend her tender heart.

“A one-sided friendship is like watering a plant that never grows; the effort is real, but the reward is absent.”

“The hardest part of a one-sided friendship is realizing that you care more than they ever will.”

“True friendship is a two-way street; when only one gives, the road becomes lonely.”
